That means, we work without intermediaries and are in direct contact with the cocoa farmers, on a personal and long-term basis. Rausch purchases the pure fine flavour cocoa directly from the plantations or from the cocoa board (Grenada).
For the fine flavour chocolate ›Rausch Plantagen‹ we have consciously decided against the use of seals such as »Fairtrade« or »UTZ«. These seals are not quality indicators, they ›merely‹ document the compliance with defined standards. Each of these seals has a different focus in dealing with sustainably and fairly cultivated food. We have a much more comprehensive demand, which none of the common seals does justice to. The standards and guidelines for the fine flavoured chocolate ›Rausch Plantagen‹ correspond to the existing certification offers or are far above them.
By deciding to develop its own seals, such as ›Direct Trade‹ and ›Single Origin‹, Rausch creates absolute transparency for all its partners and employees, the interested public and its customers. We know each direct trade partner in person and guarantee cocoa farmers prices well above the world market level through cooperation in partnership. Leaving out intermediaries, this higher price directly benefits the cocoa farmers.
