Rootstock
Cocoa varieties are grafted in order to obtain high-yielding, single-variety cocoa plantations. Part of a special e.g. high-yielding, aromatic variety is planted (grafted) on a rootstock, which is the basis. The rootstock, another cocoa variety, should be vigorous and robust.
