our promise
Acting responsibly
"We want to know exactly where our fine flavour cocoa comes from, who grows it and how the processes work on site. That's why we do without middlemen, start at the source and follow the entire path of the cocoa bean all the way to direct sale to the customer. We are convinced that only by acting fairly and sustainably we obtain the best raw materials and thus also the best chocolate."
- Robert Rausch, CEO-

we think and act for the long term
FOR SEVERAL GENERATIONS
Since 1918, Rausch has stood for excellent chocolate creations made from pure ingredients and according to the highest quality standards. The core values of our Berlin-based traditional company Rausch - never compromising on quality and continuously paying attention to sustainability - are already being implemented by managing director Robert Rausch in the fifth generation. As a family-owned company, sustainability for us means being able to pass on a healthy company to the next generation and therefore to consider decisions and actions equally from an ecological, economic, social and technological point of view.
We pay particular attention to the points of product responsibility, cooperation with cocoa farmers, representatives of cocoa cooperatives and Cocoa Board members, as well as the treatment of our employees.
Transparency to the source

FROM CULTIVATION TO THE MOMENT OF ENJOYMENT
We start directly at the source and accompany the entire path of the cocoa bean up to direct sale to the customer. We pursue high sustainability standards in the procurement of our raw materials and in the processing into high-quality chocolate. Through this transparency and fair conditions, we create a basis to ensure sustainable fine flavour cocoa sourcing in the future.

Sustainable enjoyment from our own hands
Since 2014, we have had our own fine flavour cocoa plantation ›Tres Equis – Finca de Cacao‹ in Costa Rica. Here we cultivate the best fine flavour cocoas, research new varieties and continue to expand the intensive exchange and knowledge transfer with our partners.

What we have achieved so far
We are proud to have achieved so many positive things in terms of sustainability. Especially of our heart project in Costa Rica, where we have built up a self-sufficient fine cocoa institute and also bind CO2.
But it is not only on our own plantation that we attach importance to sustainability and fairness: we know all our partners personally and guarantee the cocoa farmers prices well above the world market level through partnership-based cooperation, as well as training by our experts.
Fair pricing is particularly important to us. Of course, this also means that we explicitly condemn any form of child labour. We have signed contracts with the producers that exclude any employment of children. We regularly check compliance with this agreement through personal visits by our cocoa biologists on site.
We have not yet reached our goal and continue to work on making our contribution to sustainable development and continuous improvement.
